Who is the Lewisburg Church of Christ?
Formerly known as the Fairlea Church of Christ, our congregation relocated to our current location along Route 219 North in Lewisburg and officially moved into the building in 2000. Taking on the name change to the “Lewisburg Church of Christ.”
Today, we are a mid sized to large rural church family made up of people from many different backgrounds—imperfect people seeking to grow in faith together. At the heart of our church is a shared desire to love God, follow His Son, and live according to His Word.
We strive to follow the example set by Jesus, who taught the example “not to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45). In the same spirit, we seek to serve one another, our community, and all who walk through our doors.
Whether you are searching for a church home, exploring faith, or simply visiting, we welcome you to come and grow with us.
Our Mission
The mission of the Lewisburg Church of Christ is to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost, to baptize them for the remission of their sins, to bring them into the fellowship and discipleship of Christ, to help them grow to maturity in Christ, to train them well to serve in works of service and to help them make it home to our Lord on the last day.
Our Beliefs
God is One- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
God The Father created all things for His glory
God The Son, Jesus Christ, is fully human and fully God
God The Holy Spirit convicts sinners, brings them to Christ, makes them alive in conversion and indwells them as believers
Salvation the forgiveness of sin and adoption into the family of God, is only by grace through faith in work of Jesus Christ (death, burial, resurrection, and ascension).
Baptism is full immersion upon one’s faith and repentance. In baptism, one received the forgiveness of sins and the Holy Spirit
The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s death for believers till he returns
Worship is a lifestyle, but all Christians are to assemble each first day of the week for worship
Local Fellowship, the church is organized in local assemblies where believers join together in worship, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and service with Elders/Shepherds being tasked with the care and oversight of the local body.
The Bible, is God’s clear, complete, true, divinely inspired, authoritative Word
Man is made in God’s image, but has fallen because of sin, in rebellion to God and is helplessly lost
Creation occurred when God spoke everything into existence in six consecutive days, apart from evolution
Sin is any disobedience to God’s law. It’s penalty is eternal death
The Family is built on the lifetime marriage of one man to one woman
The Church established on the day of Pentecost, is the body and bride of Christ and is made up of all saved by grace through faith.
Final Judgment, we believe in the visible return of Jesus when the living and the dead, and the righteous and unrighteous, will be raised and judged; those who placed their faith in Jesus will inherit eternal life while those who are without Christ will experience eternal separation from God
